Mkrtich Minasyan, MP from the Republican party, today, September 25, had a meeting with journalists and talked about the opposition and their joint candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.
“I have heard that people say Gagik Tsarukyan will be the joint candidate for the opposition. I want all of you to know that if the party has not said that it belongs to the opposition it can’t nominate an oppositional candidate. I should recall that Tsarukyan announced that he is in the middle of Armenia’s political field, neither opposition nor authority, so I don’t think he will be the joint candidate of the opposition.
In general, I think that opposition won’t have any joint candidate, because they can’t act as a united group. ”
We should recall that earlier Aharon Adibekyan conducted a survey about the joint candidate of the opposition and more than 30 % of the questioned people said that Tsarukyan will be the joint candidate.
