On September 23, at the local government elections, the Defender 116 Rapid Response hotline, as well as regional offices, worked round-the-clock. The regional offices of the Ombudsman received 38 alarms, concerning irregularities at the elections. RA Office fot he Human Rights Defender states this in the preliminary review covering Armenia’s local self-government elections.
“Received alerts mainly concerned the violation of elections, prevention of journalists to enter the polling stations, transportation of the citizens to the district centers free of charge and other cases. The alerts are being studied now, after which the proceedings will be initiated“, read the statement.
