Ruben Tovmasyan, leader of Communist party, today had an interview with Armenian media on upcoming presidential elections.
According to him the opposition won’t find a common candidate for upcoming presidential elections.
“Nowadays opposition cannot nominate a single, common candidate, since they can’t discuss such important question all together. They are all separated, each of them wants to become the leader of the country, so it will be very difficult to decide such thing” said Tovmasyan.
To the question whether he will be nominated for the elections or not, he answered.
“Communist party is a huge party, with a lot of members. I, myself can’t decide and do such step. First of all the upper power of our party must decide. If they decide that I must be nominated, then I will do it, since their word is a law for me. If they decide that I won’t, then naturally I won’t do it. ”
During the interview Tovmasyan also stressed that every election costs a lot of money.
“One must have a lot of resources in order to be nominated for the elections. As you know we participated in the parliamentary elections, and it will be difficult to participate in the presidential elections, but I’m sure that our “elder Russian brothers”, will support us in this issue” stressed leader of Communist party.
