RA National Assembly delegation led by president of the Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan took part in PACE Council of heads of parliaments held in Strasbourg. Hovik Abrahamyan had a private meeting with PACE president Jean Claude Mignon. Mignon praised Armenia’s development in terms of democratization, stressing judicial reforms and the political atmosphere enabling the country to move towards democratization.
Touching upon the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, PACE president stated this to be solved by peaceful means solely. Mignon as well pointed that PACE Nagorno-Karabakh sub-committee did not prove it being efficient and has drained its capacity. PACE president also noted Safarov’s case to be discussed in the upcoming PACE session.
