Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Araz Azimov, today had meeting with Azerbaijani press and announced:
“We have never denied the idea of defining the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. The status could be discussed only after the “Azerbaijani IDPs returned back” to their homes”.
He mentioned that the “territorial integrity of Azerbaijan” must be “restored” and Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijanis must live together.
Araz Azimov said that the world’s community’s position on this issue is quite clear and added that not only Azerbaijani allies, but also other organizations support Azerbaijan and urge Armenia “to return Azerbaijan’s occupied lands”.
The issue concerning both Azerbaijan and Armenia must be reflected in that “Road map”. No one rejects the idea of communication restoration. But it could be possible only after the liberation of Azerbaijani lands. We have never refused to identify the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. It could be discussed only after the “Azerbaijani IDPs returned back” to their homes” said Azimov.
