According to the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, to establish what really happened in the Gldansk prison on serving a punishment, it is necessary to establish a special commission, which will be attended by representatives of the Parliament and the public.
As the President announced at the meeting with members of military forces, the Ombudsman should be connected to it, and its representative should be in each institution.
“We should place representatives of the Ombudsman in all prisons. Public Defender is not in Tbilisi and I will meet him as soon as he is back, “- said Mikheil Saakashvili.
According to him, there is need to increase staff units and funding of the Ombudsman.
