Political experts shared their views on the prospects of the dialogue between government and opposition, as Azerbaijani sources report.
“The protest directed by the ruling and opposition parties of Azerbaijan to the European Parliament on the resolution in relation to Safarov’s pardon has once again demonstrated the solidarity of society in national issues.” This was stated by the Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling party “Yeni Azerbaijan” (NAP) Mubariz Gurbanli commenting the joint NAP protest and opposition parties of the country, which was sent to the European Parliament a few days ago in connection with the resolution condemning the pardon of Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov. Milli Mejlis deputy also noted that the application is also a message to other countries’ structures of Europe and the Armenian lobby.
“We struggle with the Armenian side on the information front. In this struggle, the Azerbaijani mass media and television do a great job.” said Mubariz Gurbanli.
Member of the Forum of Azerbaijani intellectuals, political scientist Eldar Namazov believes that such statements would not do any good our country and the people. Namazov notes the importance of dialogue “government-opposition” not only concerning the European Parliament’s resolution in connection with Ramil Safafrov, but, in general, concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
“After the convergence of power and the opposition in the country, which occurred after the adoption of the European Parliament resolutions on Ramil Safarov, the government expects to continue the dialogue “government and opposition.” – stated head of the social-political department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov.
