Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed the International Media Forum journalists covering the oil and gas conference held in Azerbaijan these days. The President said that at present, when the global energy security is of particular importance, the production of hydrocarbon resources, transportation and management, and the profit are in the media spotlight.
“Azerbaijan, having rich natural resources, is best known in the mining industry. It became one of the centers of alternative energy and plays an important role in ensuring the energy security of Europe due to its strong infrastructure and extensive network of oil and gas pipelines, “- said Aliyev.
According to what was said by Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan joined the international program “Transparency Initiative in industrial areas, in extraction of mineral resources”. The state created the necessary conditions for the participation of civil society and the international audit in managing oil revenues within and outside the state.
“The activities of the State Oil Fund, which is going to profit from the sale of energy, were highly appreciated by the international scale. Existence in the country of pluralism, freedom of expression and information allows comprehensive public to be aware about energy policy and the management of profit “, – said the head of state.
Ilham Aliyev congratulated the participants and wished success to the forum.
