State Minister for Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures of Georgia Tornike Gordadze and Deputy Elena Khoshtaria visited Brussels to meet NATO Deputy General Secretary Alexander Vershbow. A special representative of the General Secretary of NATO in the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai was present at the meeting.
The sides discussed issues related to the prospects of Georgia’s accession to NATO and the current political processes in Georgia. NATO positively assessed the ongoing reforms in Georgia and the positive dynamics of Georgia’s relations with NATO, the prime example of which is the frequency of high-level visits to Georgia in the last period. At the meeting they also touched the security issues in the region and Georgia.
Other high-level meetings are planned in the framework of the visit.
