In connection with the situation created after the release of Ramil Safarov, some media reports that there are contradictions in the top leadership of Azerbaijan.
In particular, as the Ukrainian edition Fraza.ua informs, which opposed the Safarov’ pardon and warned the ruling team of the potential adverse consequences of such a step, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov “fell into disgrace” of President Ilham Aliyev.
We should recall that experts in Moscow, who are familiar with the balance of power in the Azerbaijani political circles, in an interview to a REGNUM, reported that Mamedyarov is the representative of the so-called “party of peace”, which is against possible attempts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by military means.
“What concerns President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, he acts as an arbiter between the two poles, taking the final decision. In the case of Ramil Safarov’s extradition, obviously, won the position of the “party of war” or so-called “hawks “- said the Russian expert, who asked not to give his name.
Continuing the statement which was written in Ukrainian website Fraza.ua we should say that this is not the first time that there is a disagreement between Elmar Mammadyarov and Aliyev.
“Analysts have repeatedly recorded the fact that the Head of Azerbaijan made statements about the growing military budget and willingness to solve the Karabakh problem by any means, but later on, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that there should be peaceful settlement of the conflict. There are many such facts which prove the disagreements between them.”
