We should recall that on September 14, Armenian MFA, Edward Nalbandian, had an official visit to Cyprus.
The press services of Armenian Foreign Ministry informed us that during his visit, Nalbandian met with the head of the Cypriot Parliament, Janikis Omirui.
As reported, during the meeting both sides stressed the importance of cooperation between Armenia and Cyprus.
Edward Nalbandian talked about the issues in the region and said that Armenia is eager to deepen the development between the countries.
Omirui, in his turn, said that Cyprus is also ready for that.
During the meeting they also touched upon the Safarov’s extradition issue and the resolution which was made by European Parliament, on September 13.
Omirui stressed that he strongly condemns Azerbaijani step, and added that he is for the resolution, which was accepted by the European Parliament.
After the meeting they had a joint press conference.
