Today our journalists had a meeting with Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations, Republican, Artak Zakaryan concerning the issue of Syrian Armenians.
The journalist recalled that during these days information was announced that already 7 Syrian-Armenians are killed in Syria due to clashes and asked Zakaryan why they were leaving Armenia knowing that the situation in Syria is still as worse as it was, or maybe they are displeased with Armenia?
Zakaryan responded:
“I don’t agree with the idea that Armenia doesn’t provide the appropriate conditions to Syrian Armenians. The only thing we must do is to concentrate on other issues. Earlier clashes didn’t reach Armenian districts, but now, since it has changed, our government should do appropriate steps to prevent that issue ”
To another question, whether Armenian Government is not guilty that Syrian-Armenians are leaving Armenia, Zakaryan responded:
“No, it is not our problem, it is their wish, and I’m sure that none of the Syrian-Armenians is displeased, since they are provided with everything”.
