The Heritage party secretary Stepan Safaryan today had a meeting with journalists, during which he talked about inner political developments in the country and upcoming presidential elections.
“I think ANC will support the PAP candidate during the presidential elections. Until ANC didn’t announce about the “breaking up” with PAP, there is still high possibility that ANC will support PAP, which may not be the other way around”.
Safaryan also noted that PAP is still not sure about its representation during the upcoming presidential elections because the party is in a tough situation right now and also there are the interests of the presidents.
“There is the need to avoid the conflict between the government and the opposition. And the publication of Armenian politician and oligarch Ruben Hayrapetyan’s interview and the reaction from Armenia’s second president, Robert Kocharyan’s office, show that there is a war, but it is obvious that PAP is in a tougher situation.
As for the potential candidate for the elections, Vartan oskanian, Sarayan said that the latter became dependent on the opposition because of the legal sui filed against him. “PAP won’t announce its decisions right now as there is still time, even though the time is short for presenting a candidate to the society.
