Georgian media, citing the announcement of Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, reports that Georgia is the EU’s strategic partner and EU is closely monitoring the situation.
“We pay special attention to the election process in the region, especially in Georgia,” she said and added “When we met with the Georgian president, we sent specific messages to the opposition and said clearly that we want a good electoral process.”
In the end Ashton stressed :
“We will send observers to make sure that the country’s future is guaranteed”
