Georgian media reports that a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, consisting of five members, has arrived in Georgia to study the situation prior to the parliamentary election scheduled for October 1.
As reported, the delegation, headed by Italian politician, Luca Volonte, from the group of the European People’s Party, will meet with President Saakashvili, Speaker David Bakradze and Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, as well as with representatives of various political parties.
Commenting on the visit of the PACE delegation, Deputy Foreign Minister, Nino Kalandadze, said that the main objective of the delegation is the familiarization with the election process in Georgia.
