On September 10, Ashot Qocharyan, Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon, met with the president of Lebanon, Michel Suleiman.
As reported, during the meeting both sides talked about the further cooperation of the two countries and agreed to deepen the relations. Qocharyan expressed gratitude to Suleiman that within the NAM summit, which was held in Iran, the two countries also cooperated with each other.
The source informs that at the meeting Armenian ambassador touched upon the Safarov’s extradition issue. Qocharyan presented the situation which is now in the region, and added that there are condemnations throughout all over the world concerning the issue.
Qocharyan also said that Armenia has cut all the ties with Hungary for doing that terrible step towards the Armenian nation.
To the response, president of Lebanon, Michel Suleiman, noted that he hopes the peaceful negotiations over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will continue.
Suleiman sent his greetings to Serzh Sargsyan, President of Armenia, and congratulated Armenia on the victory in the chess Olympiad.
Note, Armenian Chess team won the chess Olympiad, held in Turkey.
After meeting with the president, Qocharyan was received by the Lebanese head of the Parliament, Nabih Berri.
At the meeting with Berri, Qocharyn also talked about the Safarov’s case.
Berri, in his turn, said that he had got the letter, which was accepted in Armenian National Assembly’s special session, on September 5, and said that their authorities will do everything in order to help Armenia.
