Georgian media reports that Bidzina Ivanishvilli, leader of “Georgian Dream”, has made a statement concerning Georgian President Saakashvilli
As reported, the statement was very surprising for the US senators, who were in Tbilisi.
“The senators have changed their position for president Mikheil Saakashvili and “didn’t even want to mention his name.” said Ivanishvilli and added “Americans for a long time didn’t realize who Saakashvili was, but today they do. Everyone knows everything, what kind of a man we are dealing with…. I assure you that they had not arrived to show their support towards him, they came to support Georgia. John McCain, who calls Saakashvili his friend, did not want even to hear his name today, and tried his best to underline he came to support Georgia.”
In response, Senator McCain told Georgian press that he doesn’t know anything about it, the statement “is absolutely untrue”.
