Georgia Online News Agency reports that a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, consisted of 5 people, will visit Georgia on September 11-12, in order to assess the reelection situation before the parliamentary elections, to be hold on October 1.
As reported, the delegation, led by Luca Volontè, from the European People’s Party, will meet with President Saakashvili, Speaker David Bakradze, Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, as well as representatives of political parties.
The source informs that the delegation will also meet with the Central Election Commission, Zurab Kharatishvili, chairman of the Commission for verification of voter lists, Mamuka Katsitadze from the New Right, head of the state audit service, Lasha Tordia, and representatives of the diplomatic corps, civilian bodies and the media.
The official sources of PACE announce that the full PACE delegation of 21 people, will come back to Georgia to observe the voting process before making a final assessment.
