On September 6th FM Edward Nalbandyan received the Minister of Migration and Asylum Policy of Sweden Tobias Billström, who has arrived in Yerevan to take part in the summit announcing the start of the program “Aid to Migration state service to improve migration management in Armenia”.
Greeting the guest, Nalbandyan mentioned that he appreciates the development of multi-lateral relations with Sweden. The minister mentioned that regular meetings with his Swede colleague Carl Bildt create opportunities for ensuring the regularity of political cooperation between the two countries.
Thanking for reception, minister Billström also mentioned that Armenia is an important partner for Sweden and expressed satisfaction on actively developing mutual cooperation and mentioned that the agreements reached due to his visit will stimulate the cooperation in migration sphere as well.
The interlocutors discussed issues concerning Armenia-EU cooperation. Minister Nalbandyan said that Armenia actively develops cooperation in migration sphere with both EU countries and EU organizations.
There was a discussion on the points of the decree of EU-Armenia mobility cooperation, as well as on the process of simplification of visa regime.
