Georgian media reports that US Senators, John McCain, Joseph Lieberman and Lindsey Graham visited Tbilisi.
As reported, one of the senators, Joseph Lieberman, announced that U.S. will continue providing Georgia defensive weans, and added that they have fought a lot in order to improve the decision in U.S Congress.
As reported, Lieberman also announced that they will do everything so that Georgia will become NATO member.
“Georgia needs defensive weapons and we will continue doing everything we can to make sure that those defensive weapons are provided to Georgia, because every nation should have the ability to have defensive weapons in order to defend themselves,” said Senator John McCain.
In the end Senator McCain said that Russia’s planned military exercises Kavkaz-2012 were source of concern.
During the visit they met with the opposition leaders and senior government officials, ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections, to be hold on October 1.
