“Yesterday NATO Secretary General defined his position in Yerevan – NATO and Hungary have done their job, they have judged the murderer in their territory. The extradition took place according to European convention. It turns out that NATO and Hungary don’t want to take up any responsibility for the long-lasting conflict between Armenia and Turkish-Azerbaijani and for Aliyev gifting the criminal pardon.”- writes “Hraparak” editorial and adds:
“West takes the issue the following way- Aliyev behaved badly, but he has already done what he has done. This is the fact that we must fight. We must prove to the whole world that Aliyev’s action is unforgivable, thousand times more unforgivable than Safarov’s crime. Everybody must understand that the same may be repeated. This very fact is sure to disturb the negotiation process. Aliyev no more has the right to discuss the destiny of Armenians just the same way as Hitler wouldn’t be permitted to discuss anything connected to Holocaust.
We are not against the peaceful regulation of the issue; we are for negotiations, but not with criminals. This must be the starting point of continuing the negotiations. Pre and post-safarov periods must be distinctly differentiated.
