Culture and Tourism Ministry of Azerbaijan announced that in the first half of the current year, the number of foreign citizens visiting Azerbaijan amounted to 1,088,823, which is 72,264 persons or 7.1% more , compared to the same period of the previous year (1,016,559).
According to the information the increase was mainly observed in citizens coming from Georgia (55,462 persons or 21.9%), Russia (33,671 persons or 9.8%), Turkey (17,864 persons or 15.6%), Germany (3,570 persons or 67,7%), Uzbekistan (2, 690 people or 41.1% ), UK (2,196 persons or 18.9%), and Ukraine (1,858 persons or 10.8%).
