Saudi Arabia’s air force has targeted targets in Iraq of Shiite militias backed by Tehran.
As Reuters reports, Saudi fighter jets have carried out strikes during the war with Iran, while retaliatory strikes have also been recorded from Kuwaiti territory into Iraq.
The Royal Saudi Air Force has targeted sites near the northern border with Iraq that are linked to pro-Iranian groups. In particular, strikes have been carried out on platforms from which drones and missiles have been launched towards Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
The Western official added that some of the strikes took place on April 7, during the ceasefire declared between the United States and Iran.
In addition to the Saudi air force operations, Iraqi sources, based on military assessments, report that at least two missile strikes were launched against Iraq from Kuwaiti territory.
