Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silinja has officially submitted her resignation to parliament, effectively ending the current government’s term.
The government crisis had already reached its peak on Wednesday, when coalition partner the Progressive Party announced that it no longer supported the prime minister and called for the formation of a new government.
The current government will continue to fulfill its duties until a new government is approved.
