The State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia informs that as of May 11, 2026, the procedural preparations for the launch of direct trade between Armenia and Turkey have been completed. This was carried out within the framework of the ongoing regulatory process, initiated in 2022 as part of confidence-building measures.
According to the new regulation that entered into force in Turkey, Armenia can now be indicated as the final destination for goods exported from Turkey.
What was before: Turkish supplier organizations could not indicate Armenian economic entities as the recipients in export declarations submitted to Turkish customs authorities, and Armenia as the country of destination. As a result, the goods reached Armenia through intermediary entities in third countries (for example, Georgia) with the re-export form.
What has changed: from now on, Armenian economic entities can import goods from Turkey directly under their own name, without intermediaries.
