US President Donald Trump has traveled to China to discuss the situation in Iran with Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to Trump, Washington does not expect Beijing to help resolve the situation, but Iran will be the main topic of the meeting.
“We will have a long conversation about this. China has been very good so far. They get a lot of oil from this region,” he said.
The American leader also stressed his confidence in the United States’ ability to resolve tensions with Iran on its own, “peacefully or otherwise.”
Trump added that he was looking forward to a productive meeting with Jinping and expressed confidence that the negotiations would be successful. He also noted that the Chinese leader’s visit to the United States is scheduled for late 2026.
US President Donald Trump’s state visit to China will take place from May 13 to 15.
