The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Artur Poghosyan, today received the Head of the OSCE ODIHR Observation Mission in Armenia, Janez Lenarčič.
During the meeting, Artur Poghosyan emphasized the invaluable contribution of the observation mission at a crucial stage for the Republic of Armenia.
The interlocutors discussed the powers exercised by the Investigative Committee in relation to crimes related to electoral processes during the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia.
During the meeting, Artur Poghosyan touched upon the activities of the working group established in accordance with his order to more properly organize the powers of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia during the regular elections of the National Assembly scheduled for June 7, 2026, the purpose of which is to properly supervise the consideration of reports on apparent crimes related to the electoral process, and then the implementation of preliminary investigations in criminal proceedings.
Artur Poghosyan also noted that during the pre-election phase, on election day, and in the days following it, the Investigative Committee will provide enhanced service to the entire staff.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to ensure continuous information exchange and assured that the cooperation will be ongoing.
