Former Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani has made remarkable revelations about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and negotiating tactics, highlighting Tehran’s long-term and uncompromising strategy.
According to the former official, Iranian negotiators have a knack for dragging out processes for years and engaging in endless negotiations, where sometimes “not using a trick is the trick itself.”
Sheikh Hamad emphasizes that for Iran, the nuclear program is not an ordinary project, but an existential and sovereignty issue that they will never give up to the United States for free.
As justification for Iran’s tough stance, the former Qatari Prime Minister cites a conversation with an Iranian official, in which the latter pointed to the example of Ukraine, emphasizing that abandoning nuclear weapons led to disastrous consequences. Tehran soberly assesses the regional context, seeing that neighboring Israel and Pakistan actually possess such weapons, regardless of official statements.
Sheikh Hamad predicts that, regardless of the time factor, whether it is a few years or two decades, Iran will eventually achieve its goal and become a nuclear power, as it sees it as the only guarantee of the state’s existence.
