Today, in the territory of the “Meridian” Expo Center, where construction and preparatory works for COP17 are in full swing, Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan, along with the interim manager of “Electric Networks of Armenia” CJSC, Romanos Petrosyan, the Chairman of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission, Mesrop Mesropyan, and the Advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan, Kamo Areyan, observed the construction work of the “Noragyugh” 35/6 kV modular substation under construction.
They became familiar with the project’s technical solutions, the ongoing construction stages, and the preparatory work for the substation’s operation. It was emphasized that the works be carried out within the established deadlines and in accordance with high-quality standards, ensuring the reliable and uninterrupted operation of the capital’s energy supply.
A representative of the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity is in Armenia these days, and the infrastructure must be fully ready and in proper condition during the reception of international events and delegations.
The Minister is hopeful that the ongoing work will make a significant contribution to both the stability of the city’s energy system and to the high-level organization of important international events.
