Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has addressed the statements made by Ukrainian President Zelensky against Russia in Yerevan, as well as Russia’s response to them.
“The venue of the European Political Community summit is irrelevant; it is as much my event as it is the event of our other partners. It is a multilateral platform where people express themselves,” said Nikol Pashinyan, adding, “I do not think that as the head of the host country, I should censor or necessarily respond to everything. It is a multilateral platform, and people express themselves there. There have also been times when the Russian President made statements about different countries in my presence, and I do not remember that Russia expected me to respond to them.”
According to the Prime Minister, Armenia does not pretend to interfere in all world affairs. “We are a small country with our own agenda, we have our own framework of agendas, and we do not always consider it right to step forward and make statements on global issues. “So, we should normalize relations between Russia and Ukraine? We have our modest role to play in contributing to global stability and peace, but on our part.”
