Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani reaffirmed the importance of strengthening transatlantic ties during a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Tajani stressed that Europe and America need each other and expressed hope that Rubio’s visit would help ease tensions.
The parties discussed the war with Iran and its possible impact on Lebanon, as well as the situation in Venezuela and Cuba.
“I am convinced that Europe needs America, Italy needs America, but the United States, in turn, needs Europe and Italy,” Tajani said, adding that the processes can develop in the right direction.
