Iran has introduced new regulations for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Republic’s state television reported.
According to the new mechanism, ships wishing to transit through the strait must notify Iranian authorities in advance by email, providing the necessary information about their route and navigation. If the specified requirements are met and the rules are agreed upon, the ships will be granted permission to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
It is also reported that a new, specially created body will be responsible for issuing these permits.
