Within the framework of French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to the Republic of Armenia, a signing ceremony for several documents took place today, including in the fields of education and culture. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports reported this.
An agreement on the “French University in Armenia” Foundation was signed by the Governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of France. The document was signed by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Jeanne Andreasyan, and the Minister Plenipotentiary for European Affairs of the Republic of France, Benjamin Haddad. According to the agreement, the French University in Armenia is planned to join the “Academic City” program upon completion of the first phase of the work.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Alliance for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in Conflict Zones (ALIF). The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Jeanne Andreasyan, and the Executive Director of the Alliance, Valérie Freland, signed the document.
Memoranda of understanding were signed between the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts Foundation and the National Library of France on cooperation in the field of written and printed heritage, and between the Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art and the National Library of France on cooperation in the field of libraries. The documents were signed by Ara Khzmalyan, Director of the Matenadaran, Gurgen Gasparyan, Deputy Director of the Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art, and Gilles Pecou, President of the National Library of France.
Today, an expanded meeting between Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron also took place, attended by Minister of Higher Education and Science Jeanne Andreasyan.
