Tehran has said that five civilians were killed in an attack by US forces in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has denied Washington’s claims that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vessels were targeted, insisting that they were civilian vessels.
According to the Iranian Navy, US warships attempted to enter the strait with their radars turned off but were detected and forced to retreat after warning fire (including from drones and missiles). Iran has warned that any further such attempts by the US would be considered a violation of the ceasefire.
