French President Emmanuel Macron, in a press briefing, addressed his earlier statement that no one would have come to Armenia 8 years ago.
“Eight years ago, many considered Armenia a country highly dependent on Russia, whose security decisions were completely in Russia’s hands, and whose leaders were often, to put it mildly, under Russian influence,” he said.
According to Macron, “Since the Velvet Revolution initiated by Prime Minister Pashinyan, thanks to the policies he has implemented in recent years: peacebuilding and a turn towards Europe, commitments to Europe, we are entering a new era.”
