European Parliament President Roberta Metsola responded to Ilham Aliyev’s televised speech, in which he criticized the Council of Europe for adopting resolutions against Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that in a televised speech at the 8th summit of the European Political Community (EPC) held in Yerevan, Aliyev said that from May 2021 to April 30, 2026, the European Parliament adopted 14 resolutions against Azerbaijan, which contained insults and false information. For this reason, they suspended cooperation.
“The Council of Europe is a democratic body with directly elected representatives, whose resolutions are adopted by majority vote, and its results may cause inconvenience to many, but we will never change our way of working and the position we adopt,” Metsola said.
