From April 29 to May 1, the delegation led by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan was on a working visit to the city of Haarlem, Kingdom of the Netherlands, where the new biometric passports of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia will be printed at one of the production facilities of the French company “IN Groupe”.
The combination of the passport cover, pages, including the polycarbonate data page and visa pages, the pilot pre-printing, the selection of shades, and the integration of sketches, taking into account all security components, was discussed.
Isabelle Lauzon, the head of international business development at Private Partner, assured Minister Sargsyan that the company has mobilized its best resources and invested maximum effort to satisfy the Armenian side and obtain a high-quality document.
She emphasized that the goal of the program is to bring the world’s leading experience in identification and personal identification documents to Armenia, ensuring a qualitatively new level of data and document protection through completely new approaches.
Led by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, the delegation toured the production area, became acquainted with the individual components of template production, the latest technologies, and quality differences, and received professional advice.
The experts of the private partner are specialists at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) who ensure the passport’s compliance with current and evolving international standards.
Arpine Sargsyan was presented with color solutions for visa pages that were tested comprehensively and combined with the basic principles of printing. The most harmonious and high-security options were selected.
French and Dutch specialists presented the advantages and risks of choosing each shade, explained international color-matching principles, and outlined the capabilities of the latest technologies.
The production paper has undergone special processing, with a coat-of-arms watermark and fibers added to the composition, including tricolor fibers specially produced for the Republic of Armenia.
The process in Haarlem continues. Over the next two weeks, the pre-printing phase of the biometric passport will see comprehensive quality checks, first on individual pages and then on the entire template. The results will be presented to the Ministry of the Interior for decision-making on finalizing the documents.
