The Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan has announced the suspension of relations with the European Parliament.
According to the decision, cooperation between the parties is suspended in all directions. In addition, it is planned to start a process to terminate the Milli Mejlis’s membership in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
The official statement notes that this step relates to the process of reviewing relations with EU institutions.
It should be recalled that the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry summoned the European Union Ambassador Marijana Kuyunčić.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijani side strongly criticized the European Parliament’s resolution adopted on April 30, calling it unfounded and biased.
The ambassador was also handed a note of protest.
