The Sun often appears golden to our eyes, sometimes reddish or orange, but in reality, it is much clearer and “pure” in color. The true color of the Sun is white.
The color of the Sun is determined by the Earth’s atmosphere. In fact, the Sun emits light of all visible wavelengths, from red to violet, and the combination of this entire spectrum gives a white color.
In space (where there is no atmosphere), the Sun appears white, but the Earth’s image changes: the atmosphere scatters blue light more than other wavelengths (Rayleigh Scattering), so the Sun’s light reaches us in a modified form. That is why the Sun often appears yellow, orange, or even red.
