The government adopted a resolution on the expediency of ratifying the Charter of the Peace Council among the unreported projects at today’s session.
According to the justification, the Charter of the Peace Council was signed by Armenia on January 22, 2026, while the United States signed the document on January 16. According to the justification, the Peace Council is an international organization whose main goal is to promote stability and ensure peace in conflict-affected areas. It provides for the implementation of peace-building functions, as well as the development and dissemination of best practices for peace-seeking nations and communities, in accordance with the procedure established by international law and the Charter. The Charter enters into force when at least three states agree that it has binding force for them.
