US President Donald Trump has called the United Arab Emirates’ decision to withdraw from OPEC “a wonderful one,” saying it will allow the country to pave its own way and help lower global prices for oil, gas, and other commodities.
Trump praised the UAE’s acting president, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, calling him a “great leader” and a “very smart” man who wants to go his own way.
“It’s definitely good for lowering the prices of gas, oil, and everything else. We’ve had problems with OPEC, so I’m happy with that move,” the White House chief added.
