Scientists have focused their attention on Saturn’s moon Enceladus and Jupiter’s moon Europa, which, according to experts, may be among the rare places in the Solar System where life may have originated.
Astronomer Sergey Nazarov, a research fellow at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, noted that these two moons are considered the most likely candidates for the possible origin of extraterrestrial life. According to him, both Enceladus and Europa have conditions favorable to the formation of life. Beneath their icy surfaces, large amounts of liquid water are hidden, as well as the main chemical elements necessary for life.
Scientists believe that these hidden oceans can create an environment where the emergence or even development of microscopic life forms is possible.
