A new world record has been set in London: the world’s longest tiramisu is 440.6 meters, surpassing the previous record of 273.5 meters set in Milan.
On Saturday and Sunday, 100 Italian chefs gathered at Chelsea Town Hall to create the giant dessert, following all the rules of Guinness World Records. The tiramisu was prepared and assembled on site, using about 150,000 Savoyard biscuits and 20,000 eggs.
The author of the project, Mirco Ricci, noted that tiramisu is one of Italy’s most wonderful exports, and the event was organized in the UK as a thank you to the United Kingdom. According to him, this unique dessert was also dedicated to the king and the royal family, which was symbolized by the golden crown placed on top. Chef Carmelo Carnevale also revealed the secret of the perfect tiramisu: high-quality coffee, thick and delicate cream, and great passion.
This sweet record was not only a new victory for Italian cuisine but also a unique cultural gesture that combined Italian traditions with British royal splendor.
