As part of the events marking the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia’s independence, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra will perform 14 concerts in five cultural centers in Europe from April 27 to May 16. The tour is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and includes prestigious concert halls in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Spain.
The orchestra will be accompanied by the greatest violinist of our time, Augustin Dumay; Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan; pianist Eva Gevorgyan; Italian cellist Ettore Pagano; and conductors Eduard Topchyan (Armenia), Pier Carlo Orizzonti (Italy), and Benjamin Zwick (Switzerland).
The concert program includes masterpieces of classical music: Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, Gustav Mahler’s “Titan” Symphony, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3, Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, Johannes Brahms’s Violin Concerto, Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Antonin Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, as well as excerpts from Aram Khachaturian’s ballets “Spartacus” and “Gayane”, will be performed. The concert tour is a unique professional test that will once again demonstrate the Armenian National Philharmonic’s performance level and competitiveness alongside the best European orchestras.
