The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, considered the unofficial mouthpiece of the Hezbollah movement, sharply criticized the country’s top leadership.
The newspaper’s editor, Ibrahim Al-Amin, published an article accusing President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salami of “reckless actions” and of acting at the behest of the United States.
Al-Amin claimed that Washington is exerting strong pressure on Beirut to reach a ceasefire with Israel, which, according to the author, could lead to internal instability and even “a big explosion and bloodshed.”
“We are responsible for every drop of blood,” the publication said, emphasizing the movement’s determination not to give in to diplomatic pressure.
At the same time, diplomatic sources confirm that Washington is actively working to calm the situation in Lebanon. Saudi Arabia is also involved in the process, which aims to include Beirut in regional efforts to resolve the conflict.
All these developments are happening against the backdrop of complex negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, where every concession from the Lebanese side is met with stiff resistance from Hezbollah and its supporters.
