The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has issued an official statement stating that another attempt by a cargo ship flying the Iranian flag to bypass the US-imposed naval blockade was prevented.
According to the report, the incident occurred yesterday, when the ship, having left the port of Bandar Abbas, tried to continue its course along the Iranian coastline after passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the American side, the guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) managed to redirect its course, after which the Iranian cargo ship was forced to turn around and head back to Iran. This is the tenth ship to turn back in the framework of military operations that began on Monday.
The report specifically emphasizes that since the beginning of the blockade, no ship has managed to break through the US-controlled zone.
