Rapper Kanye West has announced that he is postponing his planned concert in Marseille, France, after reports emerged that authorities were trying to ban him from performing. The rapper wrote on X that he decided on his own after much thought.
The French Interior Ministry said it was determined to ban the concert scheduled for June 11 at Marseille’s Velodrome stadium and was exploring all options. The 48-year-old artist has come under fire in recent years for anti-Semitic statements and positive comments about Adolf Hitler.
The United Kingdom had previously banned him from entering the country, leading to the cancellation of a music festival he was scheduled to attend. Prime Minister Keir Starmer called his invitation “deeply concerning.” In 2025, Kanye West released a song called “Heil Hitler,” which was banned on major platforms. He later expressed regret for his behavior, attributing it to his health problems.
