The Academy Awards have announced the official dates for the final two ceremonies to be broadcast on ABC, including the historic 100th ceremony.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC announced that the 99th Academy Awards will be held on March 14, 2027, and the 100th on March 5, 2028.
These two events will be the last to be broadcast on traditional television before the show moves to YouTube in 2029. They will also be the last ceremonies to be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Academy also recently announced that the show will move to a new location in the future, the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, for which it has already signed a 10-year contract with AEG.
Recall that during the 98th Academy Awards, viewership decreased by 9% after several years of steady growth.
