Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said he had a warm and meaningful telephone conversation with Iranian President Masood Aziz Qadri this afternoon. The conversation primarily revolved around the preparations for the peace talks scheduled to take place in Islamabad.
Sharif expressed his deep gratitude to the Iranian leadership for accepting Pakistan’s offer of hospitality and joining the joint efforts aimed at restoring peace in the region. The Pakistani Prime Minister highly appreciated Tehran’s common sense, which enabled the historic meeting to be organized later this week.
For his part, President Aziz Qadri reaffirmed Iran’s official participation in the upcoming talks and praised Islamabad’s efforts. The Pakistani Prime Minister stressed that his country remains committed to close cooperation with partners to establish stability in the region and beyond.
