US-Iranian talks are in danger of collapse after Iran carried out overnight strikes on Saudi industrial facilities.
According to Reuters, Pakistani sources, Iran is now “walking on thin ice,” and the coming hours will be crucial for the future of the dialogue. If Riyadh chooses to retaliate against these attacks, it will permanently halt the negotiation process.
The situation is complicated by the fact that Pakistan, which has a defense alliance with Saudi Arabia and serves as a main mediator, could be drawn directly into the conflict.
Despite Islamabad’s efforts to persuade Tehran to start talks without preconditions, Iran continues to adopt a tough stance. While Donald Trump in Washington is considering the option of military action, regional allies are urging no concessions until Iran stops uranium enrichment and opens the Strait of Hormuz.
